Summer Simple Services - June 28th, 2020 - Sermon

"Simple Services" continue this Sunday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m.

Our Simple Services are being led by leaders in our church at multiple outdoor chapels in and around Athens.

We have 6 different locations alongside a Zoom Online Community option that are meeting simultaneously for worship together! As you might guess, we have never done anything like this before. It requires preparation and intentionality. Our main registration window has closed, but you can check in with Tex Bagley, our Pastoral Associate, to get connected to a group. His e-mail address is tex@stacathens.org.

Each week we will post an audio version of the Sermon being read at each outdoor chapel, from Fr. Daniel Adkinson, along with the bulletin being used. These resources will serve several purposes:

1.    The audio and/or bulletin resource for our Zoom Online Community can be found here.

2.    Outdoor chapel participants can view and/or download the weekly bulletin.

3.    A resource landing page if our outdoor chapel participants need to join the Zoom Online Community in case of inclement weather.

4.    A sermon resource for our podcast subscribers or anyone who would like to review the Sunday message.

Additionally, we commend our Summer/Ordinary Time Spotify Playlist that can be used as a musical worship component for Sunday, as well as during the week.

OUR HOPE AND PRAYER IS THAT GOD WOULD USE THIS UNIQUE SEASON FOR US TO REGROUP AND REGATHER BEFORE WE RELAUNCH OUR MORE NORMAL SERVICES IN THE DAY CHAPEL IN AUGUST.

We invite you to subscribe to the St. Thomas Anglican Church e-newsletter using the form below (bottom right of the page). You can also click the Online Giving button to worship through giving. Thank you for engaging these resources!

Special Announcement for next Sunday - The Feast of Pentecost

Join us for a special digital worship gathering together next Sunday via Zoom! On the Feast of Pentecost, we remember the coming of the promised Holy Spirit upon the early church recorded for us in Acts 2. We also pray for him to continue his work in and through each one of us and in and through our church. We will also talk in detail about our plan for Simple Services this Summer. We are going to utilize the Zoom Webinar platform as a way to securely worship together. You will still use the Zoom App, but there is some different functionality between the webinar platform and their normal meeting technology. We think this will allow us to provide a more secure, higher-quality digital environment. Register today for our Pentecost Sunday worship service at 10:00 am on May 31, 2020.

May the Lord bless you and keep you safe.
